The queen of compotes, the master of smilax and the sassiest of us all: Rachel. Her natural ability to create something out of nothing has been a breath of fresh air in the studio, she can whip up a stunning arrangement out of leftover flowers at the drop of a hat. Rachel is constantly looking for ways she can help on setups, often going above and beyond to make sure that we've created something beautiful down to the very last bloom. After working in the floral industry off and on for 18 years, Rachel's passion and true eye for design coupled with her unfailing work ethic have made her a studio standout since the day she started with STEMS!
When planning a winter wedding, it's important to err on the side of stylish when planning out your color palettes and textures throughout the day. Mary Kate knew she wanted classic ivories and greens but with just a pop of something more colorful and knowing she picked cranberry bridesmaids dresses, we knew that red was the way to go. Red ranunculus gave life to the bridesmaids bouquets while subtle hints of red hypericum and pepperberries were scattered across the tablescapes- peeking out of compotes, submerged underneath floating candles and even in the lush farm table runners. Ivory fabric was draped like curtains in the ballroom, which along with festoon lighting over the dance floor helped to soften the space and accentuate that crazy romantic candlelit glow in the ballroom.
When burgundy, purple, navy blue and flowing greenery come together just right, you get Ashley + Javier's Barr Mansion wedding. With bold, rich color accented by metallics and soft linen touches this wedding is a jewel-toned dream. And let's be honest, you can NEVER go wrong when burgundy peonies are involved....
Kristin + Kiel wanted a wedding day filled with personal touches and unique details hi-lighted by their love of Austin. We mixed clean, lush ivory blooms with colorful succulents and fresh lavender to incorporate a nod to the hill country. Kristin and her bridesmaids were crowned with delicate halos of parvifolia eucalyptus and wax flower while the guys wore small succulents accented by hints of lavender- a must have for Kiel! After a breathtaking ceremony at St. Mary's and a trolley ride downtown, the couple danced the night away with their loved ones at Barr Manison. The beams in the ballroom were covered in twinkle lights and festoon lighting was draped over the dance floor. But the show-stopper was definitely the hanging floral box above the head table which represented the design of the day perfectly!
